ABOUT

Hey Hey-Welcome to Desiree Reed & Co Nutrition. Desiree here!

I’m a nurse turned nutritional therapy practitioner, a projector in human design, an enneagram 8, dog mom, & I’m not afraid to Irish goodbye at a gathering. I love traveling, a good book, and llamas.

Nursing to Nutrition??

I thought nursing was going to be my lifelong career—even though I knew deep down I wasn’t truly happy in it. But here’s the thing: you can make a complete 180° in your career and find something that truly lights you up. After 9 years as an RN and earning a master’s in nursing leadership, I decided to say goodbye to nursing and step into a new chapter.

I became a certified Nutritional Therapy Practitioner and Restorative Wellness Practitioner and found my true calling in helping others achieve lasting health and wellness, especially within the fitness space. Now, you’ll find me on Instagram sharing insights and connecting with this amazing community (although, yes, I’ll admit to the occasional social media rant!).

Origin Story.

As I moved from one assignment to the next, and one gym to another, I came to two big realizations. First, there’s a huge gap in education around women’s health. And second, health in the fitness world tends to be narrowly focused. Women in the gym needed real support beyond weight loss and macro counting.

One day, after reaching my limit in healthcare, I decided to make a change—no backup plan, no safety net. I just jumped. That’s how Impassioned Gypsy Wellness (now Desiree Reed & Co Nutrition) was born. Now, I’m here to help women in fitness take charge of their metabolic and hormonal health.

Education & Empowerment

Two core values here at Desiree Reed & Co Nutrition are self-trust and curiosity. In both healthcare and fitness, I noticed a common gap: we’re often encouraged to rely on others to make decisions about our health. My mission is to help change that narrative. I’m passionate about empowering you to trust yourself, ask questions, and take an active role in your own health and fitness journey..

A Day in the Life…

After I wrapped up my travel nursing days, I adopted Marv, a 90-pound ball of energy who’s about to turn 11. He’s a handful, to say the least, but the internet can’t get enough of his antics, which I often share on Instagram. Marv has taught me a lot—mostly that I have my limits with patience and understanding! Traveling is a bit trickier with him in tow, but we make it work. We get out for daily walks and love taking day trips together. If I’m not at the gym, I’m probably at home telling Marv to calm down…again.
